GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

As the name suggests, GE's Profile series targets those who want to incorporate cutting-edge technologies in their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with features, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Given that this fridge costs more, I'd expect better.

This fridge is a good choice, despite the small blip. It has a large freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it holds a good amount of frozen food as compared to similar models.

Its LED lighting is a nice feature and the inside storage bins feature an additional shelf that can fold down so that you can store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls so that you can set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, although I found their plastic textured coatings a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and it has many options for customizing. It also gives you notifications when doors are left open, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is a feature available in a handful of GE refrigerators that allows users to select the amount of cups they wish to pour out. It does have a countdown on the display of the fridge to show how much water you have remaining, but that's not as useful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Created to appear as a seamless element of your kitchen Bosch's French-door refrigerator looks seamless and is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and two compressors to preserve food items. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient, and it produces the shape of a pyramid using only water. This refrigerator is the ideal option for households with a single member or kitchenettes that want a sleek design and top of the line food preservation.

This refrigerator was rated as the most efficient in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, never changing more than a fraction of an inch. This is essential to avoiding freezing burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also did well. It reached the initial temperature set within a matter of hours, and remained at the temperature throughout our testing.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has the standard French door design, with two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give taller items more space. There's also a full-width drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.

The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it simple to transfer frozen ice as needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of your items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.

Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you manage the refrigerator's temperature and lighting using your smartphone. It's an easy way to keep track of your refrigerator and control it, especially when you're not at home.

It has a capacity that is above average for counter-depth models and also cools evenly. It's also less expensive than the top counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it a desirable choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't cost you a fortune, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It's a basic fridge that might not be as attractive like some of its competitors however it has enough features to make it a an excellent choice. Its most important feature, the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food items like vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large ice maker and a water dispenser.

Another great feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits above the two crisper bins. The drawer allows you to divert part of the refrigerator's cooling power directly into this area, meaning you can put away food items that require extra attention. This feature can be adjusted using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the general settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, the temperature of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the middle, top and bottom of the fridge didn't differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance however it doesn't be among the top in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer to get more precise readings of your fridge's temperature.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of grey-bodied stainless steel with a "smudge-proof" finish. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared to the shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
